Barbie Party Ideas

Hi Barbie! Are you ready to party? Or do you need some ideas on how to throw a Barbie themed party? As we know, Barbie can be anything she puts her mind to and in this case, Barbie is now a top party planner.
Whether you're throwing a pre-show party before watching the Barbie movie with a group of friends or family, or you want to go full Barbie for your next birthday party we've got Barbie party supplies that will even impress the Kens.
Regardless of the occasion, we’re going to show you how we created our very own Barbie Land party and provide you with some Barbie party ideas. So, if you’re ready… Slip on your pink heels and come on Barbie, let’s go party!
Barbie Picnic Table
For our Barbie-themed birthday party, the party-planning Barbies at Party Delights HQ recommend starting with your table and working your way out. We started with a fabulous feature centrepiece made up of a pink feather boa draped across the middle of the table. We added shiny extras to the mix like a scattering of pink table gems. Confetti and table gems add an extra glitzy, fun element to your table decorations and will impress your guests - plus they look great on camera!
When having the Barbies and Kens over for a party, no matter the age, they will love some Barbie tableware - they've got to eat from something right? Our licensed Barbie party table sets are perfect for the job. Firstly, they look great and secondly, there's no water in Barbie Land meaning Barbie never washes up, she's all about the Barbie paper party plates!
Party planning is all in the details and the Barbie Dreamhouse lifestyle is all about innovation, so that's why we wrapped our cutlery in a string of pearls. Why, you ask? Well, it kept everything neat and tidy on the table, whilst adding to our Barbie aesthetic. Need there be another reason? For the cutlery, we opted a bright pink reusable plastic cutlery set - life in plastic, it's fantastic (especially when the plastic cutlery is dishwasher safe so that you can reuse it at your next event)!
Also, make sure you're stocked up on enough paper straws for your guests so they can easily sip away on their Barbie cocktails, or juice for the younger ones - Skipper, Stacie, Kelly and Chelsea (if you know, you know).
Barbie Food Ideas
Despite Barbie having a fridge full of stickers in the place of food, Barbies have still got to eat! We took the pink theme and ran with it for our Barbie party food. We decided to create a treat buffet, which we placed in the middle of the table on a cake stand so everyone can take their pick from our array of fabulous Barbie treats. Not only was this convenient for our guest Barbies and Kens, but it also made for a great Instagramable moment.
For our party food, we chose cute iced cupcakes, strawberries dipped in pink and blue chocolate, chocolate-dipped apples on a stick, french fancies and chocolate-dipped pink wafers with sprinkles! We got the fabulous pink and blue colours by melting down our candy buttons, which you can find here.
If it's a Barbie birthday party you're hosting, then you're going to need some cake ideas. We used vanilla icing and coated the sides in sprinkles, which gives an amazing effect! Your guests will say "wow" and then immediately be after a slice! Make your cake even more Barbie by adding this Barbie Sweet Life cake bunting.
In honour of the Barbie movie causing a global pink paint shortage, we wanted pink everything at our party. Even the drinks. You can add a little pink to your drink by serving pink lemonade, as well as some pink cocktails.
Barbie Party Decorations
Our core party decorations theme was, you guessed it, pink! We went for unapologetic Barbie colours with hot pinks, accented with sky blues, baby pinks and peaches. The mission was, tell me it's Barbie without telling me it's Barbie.
Let's start with the background. Our decorating hack for creating the pink foil curtain is to take your curtain and layer some hanging decorations over the top for a bespoke party decoration that Barbie herself would love! We chose these cute pink glitter hanging disc decorations. To carry the pop of bright pink colour to the next wall, we hung up our pink sequin wall panel, this panel fits together and looks amazing fluttering in the light, whether it's sunshine or disco lights!
Next on our crusade for an ultimate Barbiecore party is the balloons. Barbie is all about the aesthetic and because of this, we treated our party guests to a Barbie balloon arch in a colour palette inspired by the movie's set. If you want to recreate this for yourself, you can! To start, a decorating top tip is to get yourself an electric balloon pump, then you can find the balloon colours we used listed below. You can also learn how to create a balloon arch in simple steps.
You may have noticed our customisable selfie photo frame, we treated our birthday Barbie to her very own Barbie Box costume, sort of. This pink frame can either be hung up from the ceiling (or wherever you can hang it) or you can prop it up, ready for when the squad is taking pictures! It comes with eight sheets of letters so you can customise as you please.
The balloons didn't stop at the balloon arch, we went the extra mile at our Barbie Dreamhouse with some letter and phrase balloons. You can recreate our "let's go party" balloon display with the 'party' phrase balloon, which comes in various colour options, and 16" letter balloons, which also come in a choice of colours. However, there's nothing stopping you from going large and choosing the 34" balloons!
So Barbie, what did you think of our party? We know our birthday babe enjoyed living her best life as a Barbie girl in a Barbie world! Barbara Millicent Roberts aka, Barbie, means so much to so many people so we hope we've done her proud with our ultimate Barbie-themed party.
