They say fashion and nostalgia trends go in cycles of around 20 years, which explains why Y2k and the noughties seem to come back with a bang! It may be hard to believe that the 00s were two decades ago, but they were and for now, it looks like they're back for good. If like us you're feeling nostalgic for the noughties, then we've got a must-have collection of 2000s Fancy Dress.
When we think of the early 2000s we think of lowrise jeans, Britney Spears, the Motorola Razr, The OC, green Ketchup and The Sims, but that's just us. Deciding on a fancy dress costume can be hard, especially when there's a theme, which is why we've done a roundup of our favourite noughties fancy dress looks! So get in losers, we're going shopping (Mean Girls quote anyone?!)...
SpongeBob Costumes

Although still very much in the public eye, Mr SquarePants rose to fame in the 00s and has stayed in our hearts ever since! SpongeBob, Patrick Star, Squidward and the residents of Bikini Bottom at this point are household names and so are perfect for a fancy dress costume.
Our licensed SpongeBob costumes are effortless fancy dress options. The Patrick Star fancy dress and SpongeBob costume simply slip on and voila, you're now a giant starfish and sea sponge! With these consoles came a whole new generation of gamers, whether they preferred Call of Duty, The Sims, Mario or Pokémon!
Video game costumes are an excellent shout for your noughties fancy dress. Level up at your costume party and transform into Toad, or Kinopio in Japan, from the Super Mario Bros franchise. The cute character is instantly recognisable with his mushroom-esque hat and now you can be too in our mushroom man costume!
Alternatively, why not go as everyone's favourite Pokémon trainer, Ash Ketchum? All you need is our Ash Ketchum costume, a Pokéball and maybe a friend to wear a Pikachu costume. You can't win them all, but when you're Ash, you can catch 'em all!
